STRATEGY BEGETS CLARITY, MOMENTUM, AND RESULTS

STRATEGY IS DIFFERENT TO PLANNING

  • A strategy is a well-researched view of what will happen over the long term and how to respond.
  • The plan defines the actions, timelines, and resources that will execute the strategy.
  • The budget allocates financial resources to execute the plan.

Strategy is harder than planning

We often use the words *strategy* and *plan* interchangeably, but they are not the same. A plan – more accurately called a plan of action – outlines the specific steps, resources, and timelines needed to implement a strategy and achieve long-term goals.
A strategy is something different. It begins with a theory or informed opinion about how your market is changing. Strategy is the guiding response to that shift – a broad directive from which you and your team can develop concrete plans and budgets.

  • Strategy is harder than planning.
  • Good strategy requires insight.
  • Without strategy, you’re just reacting.
